The district lives out its mission To empower students of all ages to be life-long learners who demonstrate creative thinking, critical analysis and problem solving skills in an ever changing and challenging world.

Communities Served:
Winona Area Public Schools is located in beautiful, historic southeastern Minnesota along the Mississippi River bordering the State of Wisconsin and is comprised of several district communities. The largest community, Winona, has a population of about 30,000 with three institutions of higher learning, a diverse industrial and service economy, and a strong heritage. The community highly values education and has a growing diverse population. There is a hospital and clinic located in Winona; and a range of places of worship can be found in the area.

Student Population: Approximately 3000

District Budget: $49.6 million ($42 million general fund budget) with $5.1 million unreserved fund balance. The district voters recently renewed an operating referendum at a level of $1,528 per pupil for a period of ten years.
Job Requirements
Hold or be eligible for licensure as a Superintendent in Minnesota. Experience as a Superintendent or in a district office setting preferred. Demonstrate strong commitment to student achievement, building partnerships in the community, supporting staff learning and development, and supporting students of diverse backgrounds.
