Position Overview:
Alexandria Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to young learners with diverse abilities. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth in all developmental areas and aligns with each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Key Responsibilities:
Provide developmentally appropriate instruction to children ages 3–5 with identified special needs.
Implement and adapt lessons to meet individualized goals outlined in students’ IEPs.
Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student learning and growth.
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, attendance, and daily activities.
Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional collaboration sessions as needed.
Ensure a safe, engaging, and positive classroom environment.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians and school staff.
Follow district policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
