Summary
Woodland Elementary School is seeking an Elementary Music Teacher to join our learning community. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is enthusiastic about fostering a love for music in students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, encouraging creativity and collaboration while developing students’ musical skills and appreciation.

Responsibilities
– Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with Minnesota state standards and the school’s educational goals.
– Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, using a variety of instructional methods and materials.
– Teach students basic music theory, vocal techniques, instrument playing, and music history.
– Organize and lead performances and musical events to showcase student talent and foster a sense of community.
– Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
– Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to integrate music into the broader educational experience.
– Maintain a positive and safe classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect for others.
– Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, events, and opportunities for involvement.
– Stay current with music education trends, techniques, and technologies, and participate in professional development opportunities.
– Manage classroom resources, including instruments and materials, to ensure a well-organized and effective learning space.

Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
– Valid teaching certification in music education for elementary levels.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community.
– Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
– A passion for music and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
