Summary:
Discovery Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while fostering a love for literature and language. This full-time position offers an opportunity to engage with middle school students in a supportive and collaborative environment, encouraging them to explore their creativity and express themselves effectively.

Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
– Teach various aspects of English language arts, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
– Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love for learning.
– Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
– Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and participate in school-wide initiatives.
– Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
– Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school events as required.
– Stay current with educational best practices and integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
– Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills through literature discussions and writing exercises.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
– Valid teaching certification secondary school English or equivalent licensure.
– Strong understanding of middle school curriculum and instructional strategies.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
– Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
– Experience with differentiated instruction and assessment techniques.
– Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources.
– Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
– Passion for literature and a desire to instill a love of reading and writing in students.
