This is a one-year long term sub position with the potential for future ABE opportunities.

Alexandria Area Adult Basic Education (ABE) Consortium is currently seeking a part-time ABE instructor for its classroom in Morris.  Programming is located at the Morris Area High School.

This is a rewarding in-person teaching position, working with adult learners (age 17 or older, no longer enrolled in high school) in the academic areas of GED, Adult High School Diploma, English as a Second Language, Digital Literacy and Basic Skills instruction in the areas of reading, writing and math.

Responsibilities include lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records.

Qualifications

Minnesota Teaching License is required.

Experience with online instruction and a variety of online instructional tools.

Ability to engage learners in both the online and in-person learning environments.

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.

Experience working with multicultural populations and English language learners is preferred, but not required.

 

9-month position

Teaching Licensure Required

3.5 hrs./week,  1 eve/wk. (Wed.)

Early PM in Morris, MN

Opportunities for additional hours

Compensation: $30.20-$35.43 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
