Job Summary
Discovery Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage middle school students in the study of science, fostering a love for inquiry, exploration, and critical thinking. The teacher will create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes scientific literacy.
Responsibilities
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national science standards.
– Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
– Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
– Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback.
– Encourage students to think critically and creatively about scientific concepts and real-world applications.
– Organize and supervise hands-on laboratory experiments and field trips to enhance learning experiences.
– Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and support school-wide initiatives.
– Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education.
– Uphold school policies and contribute to a safe and respectful school culture.
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
– Valid state teaching certification for middle school science.
– Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
– Strong knowledge of science content and pedagogy.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
– Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools for instruction.
– Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
– Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
– Passion for inspiring and motivating students to explore the wonders of science.
