Bemidji Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to support students’ emotional, social, and academic success at Bemidji Middle School.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide guidance to students at risk.

·         Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans to support student well-being.

·         Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create strategies that promote a positive school climate.

·         Participate in IEP/504 meetings and provide input on behavioral and emotional needs. Identify resources as available.

·         Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with district policies and applicable laws.

·         Respond to crises and provide support in emergency situations.

·         Collaborate with community youth serving agencies to address student needs.

·         Collaborate with administration and special education teachers to meet the needs of special education students.

 

Qualifications:

·         Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

·         Valid Minnesota School Social Worker certification/license.

·         Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

·         Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practices, and educational systems.
