Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2025-2026 school year. This position provides an opportunity to work with students with various disabilities across grade levels.
ISD #756 is a small rural school district in SE Minnesota. We serve approximately 900 students Pre-K – 12. We have seen a gradual increase in the student population over the past several years and recently completed a building project. We added additional classroom space to accommodate our growth along with an auditorium, gym space, flex spacing, and art classrooms, renovating our Ag/Industrial Tech spaces, and completing several long-term facility maintenance projects.
Requirements
The successful candidate must hold an associate degree from a speech-language pathology assistant program that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges or its equivalent as approved by the commissioner or a bachelor's degree in the discipline of communication sciences or disorders with additional transcript credit in instruction in assistant-level service delivery practices and completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork experience as a speech-language pathology assistant. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with administration, staff, and families.
Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out speech therapy treatment plans as directed by the SLP.
2. Assisting the SLP with scheduling (screenings, therapy, meetings, evaluations, etc.)
3. Completing clerical tasks such as printing, filing, creating materials, laminating, etc.
4. Scribing and assisting the SLP during screenings, evaluations, and MA billing
5. Collecting language samples for analysis
6. Preplanning IEP meetings (creating agenda, printing due process, etc.)
7. Writing progress notes and reports
8. Using SpEd Forms to assist the SLP in documenting student progress.
Salary Range: $25 - $30 an hour
