Position: Elementary Teaching and Learning Coordinator

Location: Districtwide

Hours per day/FTE: 1.0 FTE, 12 months; salary as per Department Coordinator Terms – $121,988

Job Description:

Forest Lake Area Schools is seeking qualified candidates to serve as an Elementary Teaching and Learning Coordinator. This position provides strategic leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student support programs across the district’s elementary schools. The coordinator collaborates with school leaders and educators to implement evidence-based instructional practices, facilitate professional learning, and ensure access to high-quality educational opportunities for all students. Additionally, the position supports instructional review processes, program evaluation, and the development of systems that promote student achievement.

Qualifications/Licensure:

Administrative certification required/or must be enrolled in and complete an administrative licensure program within 1.5 years of being hired.
Current Minnesota license in Elementary Education or Secondary Education
Master’s degree in education or a K-12 Reading License is preferred
Successfully completed an approved MDE MN READ Act Training preferred
Ability to work across academic departments and grade levels E-12
Understanding of professional development needs for K-12 programs and departments
Five or more years of teaching experience
Thorough understanding of structured literacy and effective reading instruction, and foundations in both elementary and secondary education
Proven leadership skills and experience in facilitating and presenting to both large and small groups
Ability to establish and maintain trusting, confidential, and supportive relationships with teachers to help them reflect on their practices
Ability to foster collegiality and community among teachers through professional development
Evidence of effective listening, written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills when working with staff, students, and the community
Ability to be independent and self-directed, and take the initiative to research and plan next steps
Proficiency with technology and technology systems
Ability to work in a team setting
Ability to encourage multiple perspectives and resolve conflicts as they occur
Key Responsibilities

Provide district-wide leadership of MN Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MnMTSS)
Oversee the planning, organization, and implementation of elementary instructional review cycles and support instructional review processes.
Support the development of and maintain district data dashboards in NextPath that provide actionable insights for educators, administrators, and stakeholders.
Coordinate and oversee high-potential learner identification processes
Provide leadership and oversight for Title I & ADSIS programs, ensuring compliance and effective use of resources to support student achievement.
Assist with the selection, evaluation, adoption, and implementation of instructional materials and curriculum resources
Partner with principals and professional learning teams to design and facilitate high-quality professional development and learning opportunities
Support the induction, onboarding, and mentoring of new educators.
Establish and maintain relationships of trust, collaboration, and confidentiality with teachers and staff.
Support district efforts to provide equitable access to high-quality programs, services, and opportunities for all students.
Collaborate with school leaders to monitor implementation of district initiatives and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations related to instructional programs, student achievement, and continuous improvement efforts.
Serve as a resource to school administrators and staff regarding curriculum, instruction, assessment, intervention, and student support systems.
