Job Summary
The Talent and Leadership Development Officer (TLDO) serves as the lead Human Resources Officer for Hiawatha Academies and is responsible for leading the network’s people strategy, human resources functions, labor relations, talent management, organizational culture, and compliance efforts. As a member of the Executive Team, the TLDO partners closely with members of the Network Executive Team and the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies that attract, develop, retain, and support a high-performing and mission-aligned workforce.
The TLDO provides strategic leadership for all human resources functions, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, leadership development, performance management, organizational effectiveness, compliance, educator licensure, and workforce planning. The TLDO leads the People Team and ensures that human resources systems and practices advance organizational excellence while supporting an equitable and inclusive workplace culture.
The TLDO must demonstrate exceptional leadership, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to navigate complex organizational challenges while maintaining a strong commitment to Hiawatha Academies’ mission, values, and strategic priorities.

Starting Salary Range: $100,000

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Education, or a related field.
● Five(5) or more years of progressively responsible human resources leadership experience.
● Three (3) or more years of senior-level leadership experience with responsibility for multiple HR functions.
● Demonstrated experience leading employee relations, labor relations, talent management, compensation, benefits, and compliance functions.
● Experience advising executive leadership and governing boards on workforce strategy.
● Experience managing complex workplace investigations and organizational change initiatives.
● Current Knowledge and understanding of application of federal and Minnesota employment laws and regulations regarding schools.
● Demonstrated success leading and developing teams.
