Job Description:
Hinckley-Finlayson High School is seeking a 1.0 Dean of Students/ Behavioral Interventionist Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This position will work with Junior High students and teachers as a Dean of Students, facilitate utilization of evidence-based and positive behavior practices that help support students in the classroom and assist teachers through developing individualized interventions, implementing restorative justice practices, and providing support with corrective teaching.
Qualifications:
MN teaching license.

Hinckley-Finlayson staff members are experts at helping students with unique challenges develop to their fullest potential.
Job Functions:
Serve as a Dean of Students to our junior high student population (7-9).
Assist with IEP meetings.
Develop equitable systems by leading positive behavior programs and strategies for students in the classroom.
Develop interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviors.
Communicate with appropriate teachers and other district staff personnel as necessary on behavior matters.
Provide support to teachers and staff while building a positive school climate to meet the needs of a variety of students.
Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with students, staff, families and community members.
Actively participate in grade level team meetings and professional development.
Collect and maintain behavioral data.
Assist building principal and dean in handling minor behavioral issues, processing with students and working with parents.
Participate in a variety of meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of supporting students in the MTSS process.
Adhere to district policies and procedures.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Coordinate and facilitate lunch and after school detention.
Promote a positive behavioral support mindset with staff and students.
Other duties as assigned.

Salary based on the Master Agreement.
