POSITION OVERVIEW: Lake of the Woods is a dynamic PK-12 school serving students and families in Lake of the Woods County. We are seeking an exceptional educational leader committed to fostering a collaborative, student-centered culture. This individual will work closely with staff and partners to sustain a positive, inclusive and highly effective environment where students can thrive. This position is a full-time, 220-day administrative position offering a competitive salary range with benefits package.

Lake of the Woods School is in Baudette, MN on the Rainy River and just minutes from The Lake of the Woods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of education programming, curriculum development and instructional practices.
  • Supervise and support licensed and non-licensed staff, including evaluations and professional growth.
  • Administer various school education programs, including measurement and evaluation.
  • Plan and direct district-wide programs
  • Oversee curriculum implementation, assessment practices and data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage the school’s budget.
  • Maintain and strengthen safety protocols while cultivating a positive, inclusive and supportive school climate.
  • Collaborate closely with the Superintendent to advance and operationalize the District’s mission, vision and strategic priorities.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with students, families, community organizations, tribal and local agencies, staff and the broader community to foster engagement, trust and shared responsibility for student success.
  • Manage building operations, including scheduling, budgeting and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Lead special education processes and student support services.
  • Ensure safe school practices, crisis response readiness and adherence to district policies.

Requirements

Valid Minnesota Administration License required
Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, curriculum and staff supervision
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Background in rural education, small-school leadership or community-centered schools
