GENERAL COUNSEL

Position Summary:
The General Counsel provides a variety of legal services to the school district on matters related to student and employee discipline, special education, personnel and labor relations, and risk management. The General Counsel also provides legal counsel in areas such as contract review and statutory compliance, and drafts and updates district policies, regulations and procedures for the School Board.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- B.A. Degree
- Law Degree (J.D.), U.B.E. active license
- Minimum of three years of experience practicing law, preferably with experience in the areas of education law, public sector law, contracts, construction law, property law and special education law
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Current Minnesota attorney license
