High School Counselor

Position Title: High School Counselor

FLSA Status: Exempt

FTE: 1.0 Position is full-time, based at the High School.

Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year

Minimum Requirements:
Must have a valid MN Teaching License: School Counselor, K-12 or be able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Qualifications:

• Student-centered approach and previous counseling experience at a secondary level preferred
• Previous experience with assessing students for referrals and providing support as needed.
• Previous experience working with the collection and analysis of academic data on a district- wide bases including MCA testing to determine students’ instructional needs
• Candidates must exhibit strong content knowledge, ability to collaborate with administration and staff to reach district and building goals, and the proven ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Strong planning and organization skills essential and effective communication skills across all levels of the District.
