Position Title: Lead Behavior Specialist (elementary)
Start Date: 2024-2025 school year
This position is fulltime and located at O.H Anderson Elementary.
Salary and benefits are part of the Teacher Master Agreement.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have a valid MN teaching license, or Social Worker (Pre-K -12), School Counselor license, School Psychologist or an administrative license, or be able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.
Qualifications:
- Must demonstrate strong knowledge and skills in areas of PBIS and restorative practices
- Successful experience supporting students and staff through positive behavioral interventions
- Leadership experience leading a PBIS system, introducing it to students and staff and providing coaching and professional learning opportunities for staff
- Experience organizing and analyzing behavioral data to make informed decisions
- Ability to support student behavior to ensure a safe, supportive, equitable and culturally responsive learning environment
- Demonstrate effectiveness in working with students and families of diverse racial and economic backgrounds
Responsibilities:
- Lead the PBIS system on a PreK-grade 5 continuum
- Promote positive student-student and staff-student relationship building
- Collaborate with building administration to plan and implement a building-wide PBIS system using restorative practices
- Monitor and track behavior data and make adjustments to our systems
- Make program recommendations to ensure the discipline process is restorative
- Provide individual support for student behavioral and social-emotional needs
- Provide support to families to promote positive school/family relationships and enhance student learning
- Lead the climate/culture committee
- Foster a community where all people are valued, respected, seen and heard
- Inspire robust academics that integrate multiple perspectives, critical and creative thinking, and continuous personal growth
- Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
- Attend department, school, and parent meetings or functions
- Other job-related duties as assigned
