Position Title: Special Education School Psychologist/Building Lead, Mahtomedi High School (9-12)
Start Date: 2025-26 school year
Position is full-time, for the 2025-2026 school year and part of the teacher bargaining unit and based at Mahtomedi High School. Salary and benefits are part of the Master Agreement.
Job Summary:
Mahtomedi Public Schools is seeking a highly-talented School Psychologist to join our team at Mahtomedi High School. This position is responsible for approximately 35 evaluations per year and fulfilling departmental leadership responsibilities at the High School. The psychologist receives an additional $2,735.00 stipend as the building lead.
Professional Support:
- Regular connection and collaboration with other district school psychologists
- Support and consultation from the building and district administrative team
- New staff mentorship program, including time to meet regularly with a mentor
Qualifications:
Minnesota Teacher License: School Psychologist, able to obtain appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts psychological assessments, functional behavioral analysis
- Facilitates communication between teachers, administrators, parents and students to find solutions to academic, behavioral, and mental health problems
- Provides psychological counseling based on IEP goals and objectives
- Evaluates the effectiveness of academic and behavioral management programs being used; disseminates research for use in evaluations and programs
- Participate in data-team (screening/progress monitoring) and child-study team (individual problem-solving) meetings
- Serve as knowledgeable resource for team members regarding due process rules and procedures
- Facilitates the team in determining paraprofessional schedules
- Attend Special Education Advisory Committee meetings
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services
