Position Title:  1.0 FTE Social Worker/Behavioral Specialist – Long Term Substitute Position

Start Date: ASAP

This position is 1.0 FTE.

Salary and benefits are part of the Teacher Master Agreement.

Minimum Requirements:  Must have a valid MN School Social Worker (Pre-K -12), School Counselor license,  School Psychologist license, or be able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Qualifications:

  • Successful experience supporting students and staff through academic and behavioral interventions
  • Experience teaching interventions to students and providing coaching and professional learning opportunities for staff
  • Must demonstrate strong knowledge and skills in the area of restorative practices
  • Experience organizing and analyzing academic, attendance, and behavioral data to make informed decisions
  • Ability to support student behavior to ensure a safe, supportive, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environment
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in working with students and families of diverse racial and economic backgrounds

Responsibilities:

  • Promote positive student-student and staff-student relationship building
  • Collaborate with the building administration and counseling staff on building-wide needs
  • Monitor and track academic, attendance, and behavior data and make adjustments to our systems
  • Make program recommendations
  • Provide support for students’ academic, attendance, and behavior needs
  • Provide support to families to promote positive school/family relationships and enhance student learning
  • Lead Problem-Solving Team
  • Foster a community where all people are valued, respected, seen and heard
  • Inspire robust academics that integrate multiple perspectives, critical and creative thinking, and continuous personal growth
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
  • Attend department, school, and parent meetings or functions
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
