Mankato Area Public Schools has a position available for a Student Support Services Supervisor beginning July 1, 2026. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Summary of Duties:
The Setting IV Supervisor supports the Student Support Services Department by assisting with the oversight and coordination of Setting IV special education programming. This role helps ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations while supporting staff and programs serving students with significant behavioral and emotional needs. The Setting Four Supervisor will assist the Student Support Services Department in a variety of tasks that support the daily functioning of the department such as, but not limited to, ESY, PLCs, due process, assessments, curriculum, serving as district representative at IEP meetings, and mentoring/coaching.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support oversight and implementation of Setting IV special education services and programming.
- Serve as the district representative at IEP meetings.
- Assist with special education compliance, including due process procedures and documentation.
- Support coordination of Extended School Year (ESY) services.
- Lead and support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) related to setting IV special education programming.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to special education staff.
- Collaborate with staff on curriculum implementation and instructional supports for students receiving Setting IV services.
- Work collaboratively with building administrators, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success.
- Assist with program development, problem-solving, and improvement of district Setting IV special education services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services.
Qualifications Required:
- Director of Special Education, K–12 Principal License, or currently enrolled in a program working toward licensure.
- Experience working with students in Setting III or Setting IV programs preferred.
- Knowledge of special education law, IEP processes, and due process procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Other Information:
This is a Non-affiliated position with Category III benefits.
Salary:
$94,400 – $100,000
