Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the principal in developing and carrying out the school’s vision, mission, and goals.
- Serve as a member of the District’s administrative team and actively participate in the development, implementation, and achievement of the District’s goals.
- Building strong, deep and authentic relationships with students, staff, parents and community members.
- Support a positive, caring and student-centered school culture
- Actively participate in the recruitment, selection of staff members.
- Assist in the development and implementation of experiential and inquiry based learning opportunities.
- Support the Student Support Services team around ensuring all students find success and the necessary support.
- Support the work of innovation at the building with staff and students.
- Maintaining high standards for student behavior and enforcing discipline as necessary in accordance with student handbook and district policy;
- Attend student activities, games, and special events. Be a visible presence in the school and actively engage with the school community.
- Supervise and evaluate licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Provide feedback/coaching to staff that emphasizes maximizing the student experience, continued professional growth, and focus on cultivating a positive school culture.
- Lead professional development in the building around the Minnetonka Instructional Framework
- Communicate with parents, community members, and parent organizations concerning school programs and activities.
- Maintain and develop school – community partnerships.
- Share responsibility for building security for property and persons, including providing supervision of specific areas of the building.
- Serve as the principal’s liaison at school and at professional public meetings in the principal’s absence.
- Attend local, state and national conferences, conventions and workshops as assigned.
Requirements
- Current principal licensure in the state of Minnesota
- Evidence of successful teaching experience, with supervisory or coordinating experience preferred.
- Experience working with students in grades 9-12 preferred.
- Evidence of leading large scale projects with a track record of success.
- Evidence of an excellent record of past professional performance applicable to performing all duties of the position.
- Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including work with faculty and staff, students, parents, and school community.
- Evidence of excellent human relations skills demonstrated in a variety of professional settings, including conflict resolution with youth and adults, small and large group facilitation skills, and demonstrated leadership capability.
