Available Position – Special Education Teacher – New Ulm Middle School (Grades 5 – 8)
Job Summary:
The certified SpEd teacher works with parents and regular education teachers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs designed to support the growth of special education students. The teacher also develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, evaluates, and assesses both instructional material and student performance. The special education teacher interprets student progress, and routinely communicates with parents and the IEP team to share student progress toward their goals, as well as strengths, weaknesses, and/or programs.
Preferred Qualities:
Understanding of middle school philosophy
Understanding and experience in utilizing instructional best practices to engage middle-level students in learning
Understanding and experience in assessment and data-driven decision making
