Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • MN Principal License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous administrative experience
  • 5 or more years as a teacher in one or more secondary grades
    Charter school experience
  • Special education experience (teacher, para, or parent)

JOB Responsibilities:

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Master's degree in Education and Minnesota Licensure as a K-12 Principal.
  • Ability to confidently manage daily operations of the building.
  • A strong moral compass of good character and leading by example.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • A solid understanding of continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills with the ability to carry out the mission and vision of the district.
  • Creates a culture of high academic achievement and a respectful and caring environment for students, staff, and families.
  • Approachable and visible to students, staff, and the community.
  • Ensures consistent, fair, and transparent disciplinary practices and maintains clear, timely communication according to district procedures.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with staff and leadership.
  • Makes safety and security a priority for both students and staff.
  • Demonstrates leadership in staff development, data analysis, and performance accountability.
  • A strong understanding of technology and how to support the use of technology in the classroom.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carries out the daily administrative needs of the school in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Executive Director.
  • Serves as the educational leader and administrator within the building.  Directs and supervises building level instructional staff, paraprofessionals, and administrative support personnel within the building.
  • Administers and monitors school programs such as PBIS and MTSS and collaborates with others to improve curriculum in accordance with various local, state and federal rules, standards and guidelines.
  • Develop and administer annual master schedule for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences for all students.
  • Oversees general daily building operations, schedules, safety protocols, student discipline and activities within the building.
  • Provide leadership in alignment with the District mission, vision, and strategic plan.
  • Regularly evaluate all staff and provide effective staff development that addresses the needs of staff; provide coaching and assistance to staff in need of performance improvement; assist staff to establish rigorous, measurable goals.
  • Set and monitor high standards for all students and staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administration, parents, students, teachers, support staff, and community members and follow through in a timely manner.
  • Foster a positive school culture that promotes an environment of responsibility and respect.

District Application Guidelines

POSITION STATUS: Full-time

START DATE:  2026-2027 School Year (July 1)

COMPENSATION: Salary: $90,000-120,000 Per Year

BENEFITS: Health Insurance, Dental Coverage, Vision coverage, Paid Time Off (PTO), TRA or PERA Contributions, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and access to a range of additional benefits, such as short-term disability and accident insurance.
