Job Summary
Support the district’s mission by providing strategic and operational HR leadership across the employee lifecycle. The Lead HR Business Partner delivers and administers HR programs (staffing, compensation, benefits, and compliance), ensures data integrity, and partners with leaders to support recruitment, retention, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness. This role leads key HR processes, builds staff capacity, and ensures alignment with district goals while fostering collaboration and equitable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partner Leadership (40%)
Serve as HRBP for assigned schools and departments
Advise leaders on staffing, performance, and employee relations
Conduct routine investigations (e.g., attendance and punctuality, time card fraud) and support resolution of workplace issues
Perform core HRBP duties and lead alignment with district priorities
Licensing & Compliance (15%)
Lead OFP, Tier 1–4 licensure processes and renewals
Review applications, portfolios, and compliance requirements
Serve as liaison with licensing entities and ensure regulatory compliance
Recruitment, Retention & Workforce Planning (20%)
Support and lead recruitment and retention strategies
Partner with leaders on staffing plans and succession planning
Maintain hiring guides, procedures, and workforce documentation
Support executive-level or hard-to-fill recruitment efforts
Employee Lifecycle & Experience (10%)
Oversee onboarding processes and new hire experience
Support mentorship programs (ESP, TOC, and other staff groups)
Conduct and analyze exit and stay interviews to inform retention strategies
HRBP Team Support & Escalation (10%)
Serve as first point of escalation for HRBP staffing and employee relations questions
Provide guidance, ensure consistency, and escalate complex issues as needed
Other Duties (5%)
Lead projects, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
Maintain compliance with policies, contracts, and employment regulations
Perform other HR duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience/certification)
Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in public education
Knowledge of employment law, labor relations, HR systems, and compliance practices
Strong skills in communication, data analysis, problem-solving, and relationship management
Preferred Qualifications
Public sector experience
Master’s degree
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:
Basic knowledge of employment laws and practices.
Basic knowledge and experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resources programs.
General knowledge of labor contract law and principles.
Enhanced knowledge of school district organization, functions, operations, and jobs; understanding mission statement, goals, and philosophy as it impacts the support functions and responsibilities of human resource programs and services.
Enhanced knowledge of the operation and applications used in maintaining personnel files, records retention, record/file/database maintenance requirements, compliance reporting, and administrative requirements pertaining to human resource programs and objectives.
Enhanced knowledge of district administrative policies and procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of an effective and equitable program; awareness and understanding of improvement processes.
Knowledge of racial equity and racial equity transformation.
Knowledge of multicultural, gender and disability fair curriculum concepts.
Excellent computer skills and knowledge ofMicrosoft Windows, Google Workspace including Excel and demonstrated skills in human resource information system (HRIS) database management and recordkeeping; ability to learn new computer program applications quickly.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read documents and computer monitor screen.
Typical working environment is an office setting.
Occasional travel between school sites or events.
Sedentary work for long periods of time.
This position may be eligible to work remotely on a limited basis, subject to business needs and approval by the HR Coordinator.
Standard core hours with some flexibility required for events or meetings.
Hiring Range: $81,348.48 – $101,184.48 Annually
Job type: Full-time, 260/261 days per year
Bargaining unit: Salaried Professionals
