Coordinator: Kidstop & Four Star Express

Department: Community Education

Reports To: Director of Community Education

The Coordinator of Kidstop and Four Star Express is a pivotal leadership role dedicated to advancing the district’s mission through the strategic development and oversight of essential community programs. You will lead the planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement of our before- and after-school initiatives, the Four Star Express all-day preschool, and various summer programs.

As a key administrator, you will manage multi-site budgets, cultivate high-performing teams, and serve as the primary liaison to state regulatory agencies, ensuring every program provides a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Performance Leadership

Visionary Alignment: Align all program functions with the district’s mission and core values; develop and communicate a shared vision for community education.
Compliance & Liaison: Act as the primary lead for government agencies (e.g., Department of Children, Youth & Families) to ensure all programs meet regulatory standards.
Operational Planning: Develop multi-year operational plans, policies, and continuous improvement processes for childcare, tutoring, and enrichment programs.
Safety & Facilities: Partner with Facilities and Emergency Management to guarantee a secure environment across all program sites.
Team Management & Development

Staff Oversight: Hire, train, and evaluate program managers, specialists, and instructors.
Capacity Building: Create professional development initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning and cultural responsiveness.
Performance Management: Provide formative feedback, conduct evaluations, and manage personnel actions in consultation with Human Resources.
Operational & Financial Excellence

Budgetary Stewardship: Manage departmental resources, prepare revenue forecasts, and allocate budgets across multiple locations.
Administrative Oversight: Monitor staffing ratios to meet seasonal needs and ensure efficiency in recordkeeping and workflow.
Policy Advocacy: Stay current on legislation and proactively recommend updates to district policies and joint power agreements.
Community & Interpersonal Engagement

Stakeholder Relations: Build strong partnerships with families, community organizations, and elected officials to expand program opportunities.
Conflict Resolution: Resolve complex issues among staff and families with a focus on fair, professional, and equitable outcomes.
Communication: Represent the district through clear public presentations and transparent, open dialogue.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent 4-year coursework) in Community Education, Education, Youth Development, Early Childhood, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant programming experience.
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Preferred: Experience within a public school or community-based programming environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Programmatic Expertise: Deep knowledge of research-based best practices in out-of-school time (OST) and school-age care.
Equity Leadership: Ability to facilitate challenging conversations regarding racial equity and culturally relevant pedagogy.
Financial Acumen: Proficiency in budget development, monitoring, and analysis.
Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in utilizing modern software and data to drive informed decision-making.

Salary Range: $117,045 to $140,454; DOQ
This position is part of the Management Personnel I-M contract.
