Job summary:  Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks, working directly and indirectly with students.  These tasks will constitute the major portion of the Educational Support Professional time. Provide lunch and recess supervision.
Responsibilities and tasks include:

Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating audiovisual equipment, setting up physical education equipment, preparing and setting up art supplies.
Provide support sto student receiving special education services
Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills, e.g., math, science, English, color recognition, decision making, self-esteem building, etc.
Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art, physical education, dramatics.
Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems, e.g., separate math skill worksheet, not a part of teacher’s curriculum.
Type worksheets, tests, or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
Basic knowlegde of iPads, Chromebooks, and Google Suite
Correct tests via computer.  Record results in grade books.
Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.
Minimum qualifications include:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrate ability to work with students.
Computer and word processing experience helpful.
Applicants must be considered Highly Qualified (HQ) to work as a special education paraprofessional per the Minnesota Department of Education.
Applicants already meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota’s standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
An Associate’s (or higher) degree; Minnesota’s standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR
Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
Salary: View Classification I and II salary grid on page 4; and classification descriptions on page 5-6 on Educational Support Professional contract

Work schedule: 6 hours/day

Job type or FTE: part-time, school year
