Position Summary:
The Owatonna Area Learning Center (ALC) is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Social Studies Teacher to join our team. This position involves teaching a variety of courses, which may include: World History, Political Science, Early American, Modern American History, and other social studies electives. We are looking for an individual who builds strong, positive relationships with students, collaborates well with colleagues, and brings a willingness to learn and grow in an alternative learning environment.
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota 9-12 Social Studies teaching license (or ability to obtain before school starts)
Commitment to providing an equitable and inclusive educational experience for all students
Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of diverse student needs
Consistent and reliable attendance
Rate of Pay:
Based on candidate’s experience and education per the OEA Master Agreement *pending contract negotiations
