Position Summary: Owatonna Public Schools is seeking a student-centered English Teacher to join the Area Learning Center (ALC) team. This position will provide engaging, standards-based instruction in English Language Arts courses and support students in achieving academic success through meaningful relationships, individualized support, and high expectations. Typical courses may include English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12, Credit Recovery English, and other English Language Arts electives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to meeting students where they are academically and socially while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, relationship-focused, willing to learn and seek support when needed, and committed to helping all students reach their potential.

Position Qualifications:

– Valid Minnesota ELA teaching license required, or ability to obtain before the position starts.
– Commitment to providing equitable educational opportunities for all students.
– Demonstrated understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices and cultural competence.
– Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
– Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
– Consistent and reliable attendance.

Rate of Pay: Based on candidate’s education and experience per the OEA Master Agreement.
