Position Summary: The Spanish Success Coach is responsible for working with target populations of students in the assigned school to help ensure student success and eventual student graduation. The Spanish Success Coach facilitates communication between students, their families, and Owatonna Public Schools. The Spanish Success Coach encourages and empowers all protected class students and their families to become active participants in the educational activities and programs of their children. Training and oversight of the Success Coach position will be done by the Coordinator of Equity and Multilingual Learner Programming in collaboration with other building administrators.

Position Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two-year degree preferred. Must be proficient in the Spanish language. Experience in interpreting and translating information, school experience is preferred; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above. This position requires some after-school or evening events, including, but not limited to, parent nights, parent-teacher conferences, department meetings, etc.

Language Skills: Read, write, comprehend, and interpret verbal and written information, including instructions, correspondence, and memos. Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and or staff.

Schedule: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm, 180 days/year

Rate of Pay: B-2-3 success coach // $23.53-$28.35, depending on experience
