The primary responsibility of this job is to assist students in improving decision-making and problem solving relating to behaviors that will insure school and personal success.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Student Attendance, Contracts, & Truancy

  • Interpret attendance data and assist students in addressing challenges associated with attendance.
  • Oversee record keeping and communications associated with the student attendance contracts, school’s attendance policies and procedures for students.
  • Coordinate all truancy procedures based on the requirements of a student’s county of residence.
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with families, teachers, administrators, and other educational and community resources to address student issues and needs.

Student Behavior

  • Assist students in identifying proper decorum for a school setting.
  • Implement positive behavioral interventions and strategies to assist students in meeting behavior expectations and resolving conflicts.
  • Implement school policies and procedures regarding student decorum.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant communication and documentation of work with students and does so in a timely manner.
  • Participate in school based multidisciplinary team meetings and events that support student achievement and identify individual student intervention needs (Examples include Child Study, 504, and Attendance).
  • Accurately and appropriately utilize and interpret student data, as well as assist others to do so.

  • Demonstrates an ability to think through multiple scenarios for a given situation and act accordingly, address and problem-solve complex issues, as well as learn from experiences.
  • Willingness to take and respond to feedback from students and families, colleagues, and administration.
  • Maintains confidential and ethical handling of information and documents.
  • Attends, engages in, and supports school-sponsored activities and events.
  • Takes initiative to exceed expectations regarding assigned job responsibilities.
  • Self-directed and resourceful.
  • Adheres to ethical and legal standards and best practices.
