The School District of New Richmond is seeking a collaborative, student-centered Speech and Language Pathologist at the elementary and early childhood levels. The SLP will join a highly effective and innovative team of speech and language therapists.
JOB GOAL:
The Speech and language Pathologist will assess, diagnose and treat students who have qualified as having a speech and language impairment. Additionally, the Speech and Language Pathologist will develop IEPs using best practices in speech therapy, deliver services in the least restrictive environment, monitor the progress of the student, and consult and collaborate with staff and families.
REPORTS TO:
Building principal and director of Student Services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide screening, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders
- Support students with articulation, fluency, voice, and language needs
- Address receptive and expressive language, pragmatics, and cognitive communication skills
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and outside providers
- Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring, and required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs as appropriate
- Attend all required meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- He/she must maintain proper certification and license as required by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
- Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA or be eligible for certification.
- Must possess, as a minimum, a master's degree.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience with AAC and a wide range of communication disorders preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage caseloads effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing and occasionally requires pushing, pulling, lifting, and operating machines; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. school offices/classrooms/passageways).
Salary/Benefits
$48,533/year+
