The School District of Onalaska is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Career Pathways & Academies Coordinator (teacher contract) at Onalaska High School beginning the 2026-2027 school year.

JOB GOAL: To implement a comprehensive career exploration program to support students’ ability to customize their educational experience in a career pathway. Support students to obtain internships, mentorships, apprenticeships, other career exploration activities, and outside activities towards career aspirations and related career and technical education leadership initiatives.

The mission of the School District of Onalaska (Wisconsin) is working together to ensure high levels of learning for all. Onalaska is located in western Wisconsin with a population of 18,000. GENERAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Works closely with administration and student services staff to develop procedures and programming related to career academy programming and related projects.
Collaborates with appropriate staff to oversee development, implementation and growth of a career exploration program.
Develops community connections and partnerships related to career exploration.
Oversees all career exploration communication and designs relevant website content and marketing/informational documentation and tools.
Prepares career exploration documentation, maintains career exploration student databases and monitors student program completion.
Communicates with relevant staff for appropriate recognition and documentation.
Collaborate with school counselors to support the Education for Employment (E4E) and Academic and Career Planning (ACP) plans and policies.
Establishes community partnerships and serves as the liaison between the school and community in relation to career exploration programming.
Provides leadership and coordination for district/community committees related to career exploration such as Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Work with small group and individual students on career exploration needs.
Assists with grant and funding proposals to support career exploration programming.
Assists with monitoring grant monies and other relevant budget considerations as needed.
Attends relevant local and state meetings, conferences, and events to promote and develop career exploration programming.
Complete other duties that may be assigned by supervisor.

 

 

Requirements

Possess a valid Wisconsin teaching license in applicable grade levels.
Prior education experience in grades 6-12 preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Skill in counseling education, career and personal development.
Ability to work well with administrators, staff, business leaders and the community.
Such qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
