The School District of Onalaska is seeking a dedicated and organized Online Coordinator to lead our virtual learning initiatives. This is a remote-based position that offers flexibility while maintaining a strong connection to our local community through required weekly in-district attendance for key meetings and events.
For licensed educators with a passion for alternative learning models and a knack for administrative excellence, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape student success. This position has the opportunity to grow to a full-time role as an online principal as Ona Virtual grows.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Online Coordinator, the successful candidate will be the backbone of the virtual program, reporting directly to the Superintendent. This role serves as the primary liaison between the program and district administration, ensuring high-quality instructional leadership and operational integrity. Key responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations, compliance, and academic success of the online program.
- Manage the full student journey, from onboarding and engagement to testing coordination and withdrawals.
- Act as the bridge between virtual staff, students, parents, and the District Administration.
- Provide guidance to program staff to ensure a high-quality, engaging online learning experience.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree: Possess a minimum of a B.S./B.A. degree with a major in the assigned area of teaching.
Experience: Prior virtual teaching experience preferred but not required.
Understanding and appreciation for home school and virtual schooling options
Possess a valid Wisconsin Teaching License for grades K-8 is required, and a Principal license is preferred.
Such qualifications as the administration may find appropriate.
