The School District of Onalaska is seeking two visionary, student-centered educators to serve as the founding faculty for Ona Online. This inaugural role offers the unique chance to build the foundation of a new K-8 virtual community. The part-time position is ideal for tech-savvy educators dedicated to building strong family partnerships and creating personalized learning paths.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Virtual Teacher serves as the primary point of contact for students and families, acting as both an instructional expert and an operational guide. The mission is to ensure a seamless educational journey by managing the student lifecycle—from initial onboarding to academic mastery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitation of engaging LIVE virtual classes and delivery of weekly academic instruction tailored to individualized student pacing.
  • Regular family check-ins to foster a supportive home-learning environment.
  • Management of assessments and tracking of academic progress to ensure all students meet high educational standards.
  • Oversight of student onboarding and maintenance of documentation for organizational compliance.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Possess a valid Wisconsin elementary teaching license in the assigned area of teaching
Possess a minimum of a B.S./B.A. degree with a major in Elementary Education
Prior elementary teaching experience preferred but not required
Ability to work well with administrators, staff and the community.

These positions are remote-based and must have availability for periodic in-district meetings, professional development, and special events.
