The Director of Technology provides visionary leadership and direction for all district technology operations and instructional technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with the district’s mission and strategic priorities. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position reporting to the Educational Service Department.
The selected candidate will serve a one (1) year probationary period. The annual salary range for this position is $118,700 to $160,200, commensurate with experience, and includes an excellent benefits package.

The Director of Technology is responsible for setting vision in alignment with the district’s strategic plan, providing leadership and leading continuous improvement of technology services to ensure the department plays an integral role in the learning and development of all students. The Director of Technology has primary responsibility for the direction of the district’s technology and information systems vision, strategies, resources, and infrastructure to support operation and instructional goals. Director of Technology ensures the efficient integration of data services, work flows, and operation of proprietary systems to support organizational effectiveness for student achievement.
Job Functions
Strategic & Department Leadership
Develop and implement the district’s long-range technology plan aligned to strategic priorities.
Oversee budgets, policies, and technology operations to support instructional and operational needs.
Promote equitable access to technology for all students and staff.
Educational Technology & Learning SupportLead educational technology integration to enhance student learning and support teachers.
Provide professional development in collaboration with instructional teams.
Align technology systems to classroom, curriculum, and instructional needs.
IT Systems, Infrastructure & OperationsEnsure reliable, secure operation of networks, servers, cloud systems, and communication platforms.
Oversee student information systems, assessment platforms, and data tools.
Manage cybersecurity, data privacy, and disaster recovery plans.
Data-Informed Decision MakingImplement processes for data analysis to support instructional improvement and student outcomes.
Facilitate districtwide use of data tools and progress monitoring systems.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, provide professional development, and translate technical concepts for all audiences.

Ability to mentor and lead staff, manage resources effectively, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required:Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or a related field
OR
Two-year college or technical degree/certificate with extensive IT background and demonstrated leadership experience within public school systems
Minimum of five (5) years administrative or supervisory experience in Information Technology management, preferably within an educational setting
Preferred:Master’s degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems, Leadership, or related field
Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) certification
Classroom teaching experience and/or instructional design background
Experience leading both educational technology and IT infrastructure in a public school system
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision.
