Description:
Executive Director of Teaching & Learning, 8 hours a day for 260 Contract Days.
Summary:
The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning is an innovative and creative leader with strong communication and collaboration skills who oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of ongoing program development including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and professional development of Teaching and Learning including Curriculum and Instruction, Artificial Intelligence, Equity, Professional Development, Online Learning, Alternative Learning, District Assessment Coordination, Adult Education, Professional Development, Technology, Child Care, Care and Treatment, Career and Technical Education, General Education Programs, MTSS, 504 plans oversight, grant writing and other duties as assigned. The Executive Director will work collaboratively in partnership with other executive directors and the superintendent as well as their teams to build a model of education for Minnesota.
Teaching and Learning:
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of general education and early intervention Teaching and Learning programs.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Special Services to support special education programs
- Collaborate with member and associate member districts to plan, organize, lead and implement new and innovative programs to meet the needs of learners.
- Develop and implement MTSS at SouthWest Metro and connect the system of member and associate member district systems.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of Equity across all departments and programs.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development for SouthWest Metro Staff, member districts and association member districts.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development regarding assessments.
- Supervise Adult Education and Professional Development leadership staff.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of Adult Education programs.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of 504 plans.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of childcare programs.
- Work in collaboration with all departments to seek out, acquire, and comply with competitive and long-term grants/funding sources.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of the READ Act for SouthWest Metro as well as member and associate member districts.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of highly effective PLCs.
- Supervise Health Service.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of staff mentorship and coaching programs.
Online Learning
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of Elevate Online.
- Supervise the Director of Elevate Online.
- Support LMS transition to Canvas.
- Maintain a financially stable model.
Alternative Learning
- Support the planning, organizing,, leading, and professional development of the Alternative Learning Center.
- Supervise the director of the Alternative Learning Center.
- Communicate with member and associate member districts regarding ALC data.
Artificial Intelligence and Technology
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of Artificial Intelligence across all departments and programs.
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of districts technology plan.
- Supervise technology department leadership.
Care and Treatment
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of care and treatment programs
- Supervise care and treatment leadership
Career and Technical Education
- Support the planning, organizing, leading, and professional development of CTE programs.
- Supervise the Director of CTE.
- Develop CTE programs to support member and associate member districts.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree; preferred Ed.S. or Doctorate; three to five years of experience in K12 program development and/or administration.
- Minnesota Principal License required; additional Special Education Director license preferred.
- Innovative and creative leader;
- Demonstrated excellence in administrative or supervisory experience;
- Knowledge of current state and federal education laws and regulations;
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to manage education funding;
- Knowledge of current trends in education in all disability areas.
- Knowledge of implementation science.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with students, parents, staff, and administration;
- Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with staff, business associates, and general community;
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately;
- Ability to communicate effectively;
- Ability to exercise initiative and make independent decisions to reschedule work to meet deadlines or to effectively handle emergency work.
- Creating and leading the District vision;
- Managing staff including directing others, delegation and building effective teams;
- Resourcefulness, taking the resources of the District into consideration;
- Working constructively with others;
- Managing constituencies effectively.
