ABOUT THE COMMUNITY/SCHOOL DISTRICT:

The Stewartville Public School’s main office is located in Stewartville, Minnesota. The school district has an approximate enrollment of 1,940 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students.

LEADERSHIP PROFILE: The Stewartville School Board seeks a superintendent with strong leadership skills who:

  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of school finance, including strategic resource allocation and fiscal oversight to support district goals and ensure financial stability
  • Leads with transparency, honesty, and integrity in all interactions, fostering trust and accountability
  • Maintains a visible and approachable presence, actively engaging and being available to the school board, staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders
  • Communicates clearly, confidently, and adaptively, ensuring messages are understood and responsive to diverse audiences and changing circumstances
  • Builds, guides, and empowers a dynamic leadership team, promoting collaboration, professional growth, and shared responsibility for district success
  • Stays informed about legislative changes and engages the school district in advocacy efforts, ensuring the district’s interests are represented and supported

Previous superintendent experience preferred, but not required 

SALARY/CONTRACT: A competitive compensation and benefits package, with a starting salary range of $170,000 – $190,000, will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. Contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute. Additional benefits available may include Health, Life, and Long-term disability insurance; 403(b) match; and more.
