Description: Counsel students with problems and concerns, guide students in their individual planning efforts, teach the guidance curriculum, and consult with parents and staff.
Job Summary: The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental job duties:
- Implement the building guidance and counseling plan according to district program objectives and priorities.
- Teach and coordinate the delivery of the guidance curriculum.
- Coordinate registration and orientation for students in Grades 6-8
- Counsel students individually and in small groups about personal concerns.
- Refer students/parent to appropriate specialists, special programs and/or community agencies.
- Consult with teachers, staff, and parents regarding needs of individual students.
- Participate in, coordinate, or conduct activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Secondary Guidance and Counseling and licensed through PELSB.
FTE: 1.0 (Temporary approximately November 17th, 2022 through January 11th, 2023) This position has return rights pursuant to language in the Teacher Transfer Procedures, subd. 1.
