Substitute Teacher

The Minnesota Correctional Facility-Moose Lake has an opening for a Substitute Teacher.  This position will be on-call Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide appropriate and effective classroom instruction in an individualized manner to offenders, including maintaining a Personal Education Plan (PEP) for each student.
  • Maintain a well-managed, comprehensive instructional environment.
  • Perform all classroom administrative functions in a timely manner for accountability purposes.
  • Perform special projects for the Education unit.

This position has direct contact with offenders.

The Minnesota Correctional Facility-Shakopee has an opening for an intermittent Substitute Teacher position.  This position will be on-call Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide appropriate and effective classroom instruction in an individualized manner to offenders, including maintaining a Personal Education Plan (PEP) for each student.
  • Maintain a well-managed, comprehensive instructional environment.
  • Perform all classroom administrative functions in a timely manner for accountability purposes.
  • Perform special projects for the Education unit.

This position is located in a correctional facility and has direct contact with offenders.

Compensation for the successful candidate will be commensurate with the level of education attained and number of years of prior teaching experience approved at the time of hire.

MN New Country School (MNCS) (Kindergarten-12th Grade Public Charter School) – Henderson, MN is located in Sibley County and currently enrolls approximately 220 students. The ideal candidate will join a team of special education teachers, on-site school social workers, a special education administrative assistant to facilitate all due process paperwork, and highly involved related providers such as the school psychologist and occupational therapist

The Special Education teacher needed for this position will be minimally licensed in ASD (and preferably one other area such as SLD) and will lead services for students with ASD across grade levels, with a focus on direct service provision at the elementary school, and targeted services at the secondary level. This will include training for paraprofessionals assigned to students and on-going teacher training activities.

The applicant should have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
. behavior management and interventions for children with neuro-behavioral disabilities – specifically ASD
. alternative curriculum and assistive technology for students with neuro-behavioral disabilities – specifically ASD
. social skills instruction, daily and independent living skills instruction
. IEP writing and conducting evaluations
. creating schedules, providing ongoing training and managing paraprofessionals

Gifted and Talented Program Coordinator

The Gifted and Talented Program Coordinator has both content and instructional expertise in curriculum design and instructional best practices for gifted learners.  The Gifted & Talented Program Coordinator serves as a member of Personalized Learning department working to align district mission, gifted program and building goals. The Gifted & Talented Program Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Personalized Learning department, site leadership teams and teachers identified as part of the gifted program.
