Requirements:
Hold or eligible for licensure as a superintendent in Minnesota Experience as a superintendent or district administrator preferred

Superintendent (part-time)

December 20, 2019 by Fillmore Central School District

Fillmore Central Schools is seeking applicants for a .6 (minimum) Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2020. Fillmore Central is located 35 miles southeast of Rochester in the scenic bluff country of southeast Minnesota. We serve a student population of approximately 600 students from in and around the communities of Preston, Harmony, and Fountain. We employ 52.5 FTE certified staff and approximately 70 non-certified staff. Food service and transportation services are contracted through 3rd party vendors.

Our Preston building site houses daycare, preschool, and K-6 students. Students in grades 7-12 attend our Harmony site. All buildings and sites have been well maintained and recently updated.

The district office is located in the Preston building. We employ a full-time business manager and a full-time bookkeeper. The district has an operating budget of approximately $8 million and is in a positive financial position with a positive undesignated fund balance.

Executive Director/Superintendent

Freshwater Education District has an opening for a full-time Executive Director/Superintendent

Freshwater serves 13 school districts with a variety of services. The largest programs include special education and alternative learning centers as well as early childhood, career and technical, adult basic education and a large targeted services program which is provided remotely to outside districts. The Freshwater Education District (FED) office is located in Wadena, MN in a new approximately 30,000 square foot facility which also includes a separate school site for students with behavior needs. FED also has 5 other ALC/office sites.

The Director/Superintendent would oversee 100+ contracted employees along with an administrative team including a special education director, part time assistant director, various program specialists and lead teachers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A superintendent license, an additional special education director license is preferred.
  • Effective communication with the school board, superintendents of the member districts, and Freshwater staff.
  • Experience with school finance, including special education finance.

School/Security Monitor

Provide lunchroom supervision support.
Monitor security cameras.
Be a positive example by modeling respectful behavior and using problem solving strategies.
