The primary purpose of this school based ASD Consultant position is to provide assessment, collaboration and therapeutic supports for students ages birth to twenty-one in school and home based settings. ASD consultant will assist students, families and school staff in helping children meet their individual program goals. The job requires exceptional communication skills, flexibility to work across a variety of home and school settings and the ability to initiate and manage a complex schedule. Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education). Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree in Health Education.
Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2018, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply. Early Childhood Family Services Manager
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Early Childhood Education or related field
Minnesota license in Early Childhood Education or Parent Education (dual preferred)
Deep knowledge of Early Childhood development, birth-to-three and preschool education, and effective parenting approaches, including best practices in these fields
At least 10 years’ experience in the early childhood field, including both supervisory experience and significant teaching experience in early childhood and/or parent education
Leadership experience in a variety of settings, including community
Personal commitment to critical role of parents in successful child development
Proven ability to form trusting relationships with staff, community partners, and participants of all backgrounds and abilities
Commitment to and comfort with data driven decision making
Comfort with instructional and operational technology to support program success
