2nd Grade Teacher

Provide academic instruction in a 2nd grade classroom. The duties include, but not limited to; literacy, math, science, social studies, and art instruction. Teachers also are expected to assess, monitor and adapt their instruction based on the individual needs of students. Teachers also participate in PLC’s and work with peers to enhance their instructional ability and to support each other.

Establishes and maintains student control and discipline in the classroom, school premises or during school activities by communicating expectations of appropriate behavior. Employs and implements a classroom structure and consistency to encourage student responsibility, cooperation and mutual respect consistent with District policies and procedures. Collaborates with other educational professionals and administrators regarding the needs of students, instructional needs, new instructional technologies or approaches to student problems, learning or curriculum.
