Payroll Specialist

Rush City Schools is seeking a full time, 12-month, Payroll Specialist. This position provides support and assistance to the Business Manager in the administration of the school districts payroll functions and related activities. Details of the primary duties are processing of payroll, data entries, payroll liabilities, and reporting. This position will assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, long term disability, TRA/PERA and 403(b) plans. The Payroll Specialist will serve as a resource for staff while ensuring payroll actions and activities follow all applicable policies, state and federal laws and labor agreements. Other duties of a similar nature may also be assigned.

Candidates must have excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to fulfill Rush City Schools mission statement. Salary is based upon experience and qualifications. Applications accepted until the position is filled.

Custodian II – 2nd Shift

Rush City Schools is in search of an evening custodian.

This position is 12 month, 8 hour per day, 40 hour per week, 2nd shift custodian.  Primary duties include mopping, sweeping, carpet extracting, vacuuming, dusting, washing walls, windows, painting, sanitary fixtures, set up/take down of evening events, and other duties as defined in job description.

Compensation follows Teamsters Local #320 bargaining agreement and includes an hourly shift differential. This position is open until filled.

 

 

 

Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructor

Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructor

Location: Pine Technical and Community College (PTCC)

Position Purpose:
Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructors are responsible to plan, implement, and assess curriculum for ABE students. This includes, but is not limited to: General Educational Development (GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), US Citizenship, Adult Diploma, digital literacy, workplace skills, career and post-secondary planning, basic literacy and numeracy. Instructors will help monitor and improve student and program outcomes.

Essential Duties:

Curriculum and Instruction

  • Provide direct instruction in ABE content areas
  • Select and develop curricula which motivates and reflects the goals, needs, interests and expectations of the learner
  • Direct volunteers as needed
  • Facilitate volunteer literacy tutors/student matches
  • Establish and maintain an appropriate environment for adult learning
  • Demonstrate organizational skills for managing multi-level classrooms

Advising, Mentoring, and Counseling

  • Create and update individual learner plans and goals based on knowledge of adult student characteristics
  • Provide intake, evaluation, referral, placement and support for adult learners who contact the program
  • Design and implement a program that promotes student retention and goal attainment

Program Promotion

  • Seek out opportunities to promote the program
  • Participate in existing program promotion activities
  • Act as a representative of the program in the community

Data Management and Accountability

  • Maintain all registration and attendance data for ABE reporting requirements
  • Collect and monitor student data per MDE requirements

Professional Development

  • Attend district staff meetings and consortium meetings
  • Participate in regional and state in-service training
  • Complete all current/required state and district training

Other Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned

First Grade Teacher

First Grade Teacher

We are currently seeking friendly, energetic, motivated candidates for a full-time First Grade Teacher position. This position requires teaching general education in all subject areas with a highly motivated team of first grade teachers! Qualifications require the appropriate MN Teaching Licensure or the ability to quickly renew. You may be a great fit if you have previous teaching experience in an early childhood setting through Grade 3 and/or a love for early childhood learning and creative programming for whole-child development.

The Education Services Specialist provides direct administrative support to the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services. Responsibilities include coordinating training and workshops, purchasing, budgeting department communications, data collection, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting on behalf of Education Services.  Provides secondary level advice and direction to Education Services leaders and support personnel on behalf of the Assistant Superintendent.

School Nurse

The School Nurse will work within the Rush City School District to provide support focused on school-based health programming for PreK-12 grade. The role will include facilitation of all health-related services, discerning and responding to the needs of students, providing technical support and consultation to families, training to school staff on basic health practices and emergency response, and overseeing the health office in its entirety. This is a full-time position to begin the 2023-2024 school year. Hours, salary and benefits are in accordance with the Teacher Master Agreement. This position is open until filled and applications will be reviewed as they are received.
Qualifications:

● Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license,
Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification and licensure as a school nurse from the
Minnesota Board of Education.
● Develops and revises standards, policies and procedures that address school wide
health and safety, and emergency care of illnesses and injury during the school day.
● Develops Individual Health Plans for children with chronic health conditions such as
diabetes, epilepsy, and severe allergies.
● Assesses and delivers care to ill and injured students, and to students with chronic
health conditions.
● Conducts health screenings according to State recommendations.
● Collaborates with other professional staff, interdisciplinary child study team and Special
Education team to best meet the academic, social, emotional and mental health needs
through direct service, referral and/or follow-up.
● Knowledge of the fundamentals, principles, and practices of nursing care procedures,
methods, and techniques.
● Knowledge of relevant public health laws, guidelines, and rules pertaining to student
health care and nursing care services.
● Knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, current healthcare issues, concerns, and
trends.
● Ability to demonstrate confidentiality.
● Proficient in the use of Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite) application.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
● Ability to show initiative in resolving problems.
● Ability to assume responsibility, be well organized, execute initiatives from directives and
approved self-initiatives.
● Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and collaboratively with people
from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
