Early Childhood Services Coordinator
The St. Croix River Education District is committed to maximizing student outcomes for all learners through the use of data-based decision making, meaningful collaboration, and implementation of innovative, evidence-based practices. We are seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates for an Early Childhood Services Coordinator position beginning the 2020-21 school year. This position will primarily support the Chisago Lakes School District and North Branch Area Public Schools.
The Early Childhood Services Coordinator provides support to SCRED member district Early Childhood teachers, by engaging in the following primary activities:
- Provide technical assistance on legal and regulatory compliance Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) service delivery and due process requirements
- Assist districts in designing or refining a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework through the use of evidence-based instructional practices
- Provide coaching for Reading Corps and the Pyramid Model in participating districts
- Develop and facilitate professional learning opportunities for member district staff using effective adult learning strategies
- Provide consultation for individual students as well as programmatic enhancements
- Support individual teachers and building level teams with the use of data-based decision making practices using Teaching Strategies Gold assessment data
- Conduct birth through five screenings in response to Help Me Grow referrals and share pertinent screening information with school-based team
- Promote the implementation of best practice in Early Childhood Screening within member districts
- Assist in the interdisciplinary assessment of children with disabilities aged birth to six who are not responding to special education services
- Facilitate interagency collaboration through existing coordination opportunities (e.g., regional IEIC, Chisago and Pine County Early Childhood Committees)
- This position requires a high level of collaboration and problem-solving with other service coordinator areas as well as school psychologists, program administrators/coordinators, and special services supervisors.

School District Information:
- The Big Lake School District serves 3,100 pk-12 students. In addition, children, families, and other district residents are served through early childhood and community education programs. Educational and support programs are delivered in four school buildings located in the City of Big Lake
- The district employs 400 licensed and non-licensed staff members. The superintendent is supported by an Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, a Director of Business Services, a Technology Manager, a Buildings and Grounds Manager, a Director of Community Education, four Building Principals, and a Special Education Director (employed by Sherburne Northern Wright Educational Coop). In addition, an Activities Director, and four assistant principals are employed by the district. Food Service is outsourced to Chartwells, who employs a Food Service Director. An Administrative Assistant provides support to the Superintendent as well as other District office personnel.
