Background Information: The Cornerstones Program is a well-respected therapeutic setting for EBD program located in Buffalo, MN.  The program enrolls students from several districts and is multi-agency in nature.  The Cornerstones Program is part of the Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative (MAWSECO) #938.  The MAWSECO central office is located in Howard Lake, MN which is west of the metro and south of St.Cloud.

North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS) offers a well-rounded education for students of all interests and ability levels. With programs unique to the area, such as Air Force JROTC, the Pro-Start Culinary Program, Project Lead the Way from Kindergarten through graduation, computers for all students grades 5-12, gifted and talented programming, and much more, NBAPS stands out!

Social Emotional Learning Services Coordinator

The St. Croix River Education District (SCRED) is committed to maximizing student outcomes for all learners through the use of data-based decision making, meaningful collaboration, and implementation of innovative, evidence-based practices.  We are seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates for a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Services Coordinator position beginning the 2020-21 school year.

The SEL Services Coordinator will support our member districts in the implementation of schoolwide SEL by engaging in the following primary activities:

  • Coordinate an internal SEL leadership team tasked with designing and implementing SEL technical assistance to member districts
  • Facilitate district SEL leadership team meetings using the Guide to Schoolwide SEL from the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL)
  • Assist teams in conducting SEL needs assessments to inform action planning
  • Provide or coordinate SEL technical assistance across the prevention levels (tiers), including special education
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning related to SEL (e.g., the importance, evidence- based practices, how to integrate SEL into the classroom) using effective adult learning strategies
  • Create and/or share resources with teams to assist in SEL implementation
  • Identify promising SEL practices within and across our districts and facilitate ways to highlight and share these practices
  • Manage communication with stakeholders regarding SEL implementation guidance and support
  • Work collaboratively with our Social Behavior, Instructional Services and Early Childhood teams to integrate SEL into a cohesive Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) framewor
  • Assist districts in selecting methods to assess SEL; use data from SEL measures or other related sources to improve social-emotional programming
  • Monitor SEL implementation progress and report to key stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to enhance the SEL programming available to our students

This position requires a high level of collaboration and creative problem-solving with both SCRED and member district staff, in particular other service coordinators, school psychologists, building administrators, interventionists, school social workers, school counselors, special services supervisors, and other staff as determined appropriate by district administration.
