Equity Specialist (8 hours per day; 190 days per year)

To create and maintain culturally integrating learning environments and experiences, in collaboration with students, parents, school staff, and community resources.

Job Summary:

1.  Develop relationships within and between schools, and with community resources in order to create respectful environments.
2.  Arrange opportunities for multi-cultural experiences within, and across schools, and in cooperation with community education to ensure resources are available to staff, students and parents.
3.  Collaborate with Specialist of Integration on the district Integration plan.
4.  Assist in resolution of misunderstandings and conflicts that arise between students, parents and staff who are from diverse cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds to ensure safety for all students, parents and staff.
5.  Collaborate with Specialist of Integration in working with special education teams, student assistant teams, school administrators, and community resources to provide appropriate services for students and families of color and/or diverse ethnic backgrounds to ensure equality among established student programs.
6.  Support classroom teachers with the orientation of and interaction with, students of color and/or diverse ethnic backgrounds in order to create awareness and understanding of diversity issues.
7.  Collaborate with Specialist of Integration in providing staff training in buildings in order to provide cultural resources for school personnel.
8.  Increase the support to parents of students-of-color and/or diverse ethnic backgrounds in order to promote parent involvement in schools.
9.  Minimize the barriers to integration by: Assisting with peer conflict, mediation, developing team-building and leadership opportunities for students-of-color in order to promote empowerment among minority populations.
10.  Other job related duties as required.

Math Teacher

1.0 FTE On-going position beginning the 2019-2020 school year.

Minnesota licensure in mathematics is required.  Dual licensure in special education is preferred.

Background Information: Village Ranch Alternative Program (VRAP) is located in Cokato, MN and is an educational facility on the grounds of the Village Ranch, Inc. group home.  This program serves males in grades 5 -12.  Village Ranch Alternative Program is part of the Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative (MAWSECO) #0938-52.  The MAWSECO central office is located in Howard Lake, MN which is west of the metro and south of St. Cloud.

Paraprofessional Special Education

Facilitate student growth by assisting in the management of behavior and social interactions. This position will be working with students in elementary grades. The skills necessary include confidentiality, patience, good communication/interpersonal skills, flexibility, and teamwork. Two-year degree or 60 college credits or ParaPro test; experience and ability to work with students; desire to work with students who have special needs; ability to follow and carry out the classroom teacher’s instructions; familiarity with computer use and good communication skills.

Business Manager

Position Summary: Perform financial management, State and Federal Compliance, Board and Administration support and accounting functions. This is a full time position with some evening and weekend hours possible. In addition to support provided for member districts, MAWSECO operates four Care and Treatment Educational Programs, and five Level 4 separate site programs including transition disabled. MAWSECO also provides all Birth to 3 Services for member districts.
