Job Description: Forest Lake Area Schools is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Literacy Instructional Coach for the 2017-2018 school year. This position is accountable for providing supports in literacy instruction and collaborating with licensed classroom teachers in our four Title I elementary schools – Central Montessori Elementary, Forest View Elementary, Forest Lake Elementary and Linwood Elementary. This position coordinates library programs and services, working with education, treatment, and correctional programming to promote the personal and cultural development of offenders. This position also assists and provides support to the Special Teachers in the classroom to meet educational goals of the student offender. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitor the activities in the library so services are provided in an atmosphere conductive to library use. Provide a planned and continuous acquisition of materials, as well as organize for ease of accessibility to meet the needs of the library patrons. Increase availability of library materials by participating in the Inter-library Loan Program with local county Libraries. Provide for the circulation of materials so patrons have access to requested materials. Facilitate offender access to law librarian and fill offender requests for photocopies of materials from the law library collection. Manage special projects for the Education Department. This position is located at a Minnesota Correctional Facility and will have direct offender contact.
