This position will facilitate a comprehensive school-counseling program, including academic, career, and personal social domains designed to fit the needs of Walter Maginnis High School’s (WMHS) unique student population and characteristics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Develop, manage, and deliver a comprehensive school-counseling program that fosters the personal growth, educational development, and emotional well-being of WMHS students. -Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive career counseling program that promotes knowledge of careers and all types of experiential learning opportunities that emphasizes to students the advantages of completing school with marketable skills. -Coordinate and supervise the provision of on-line credit recovery coursework needed for graduation and/or to ensure appropriate grade placement upon return to a community school. -Assist in the continuous monitoring and improvement of WMHS educational courses and interventions. This position is located at a Minnesota Correctional Facility and will have direct offender contact. Compensation for the successful candidate will be commensurate with the level of education attained and number of years of prior teaching experience approved at the time of hire.
