Supervisor of Special Services

Assist the Director of Special Services by providing administrative support to building administrators, individual special education teachers and teams. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: 1.Conduct observations on licensed special education teaching staff. Work with building administration to address performance issues with staff as necessary. 2.Assist with the staffing process for special services licensed and non-licensed staff. 3.Assist with program options for high needs students. 4.Interview, hire and coach special education staff. 5.Assess and implement staff development needs for all special education staff. 6.Assist with workshop sessions for licensed special education staff 7.Conduct group and individual IEP training sessions as needed 8.Conduct team-building training as needed 9.Assist in administering and reporting on grants that have been awarded to the Special Services Department 10.Collaborate with building teams on program needs during the school year 11.Coordinate extended school year services for special education students 12.Collaborate with the Teaching & Learning Department to coordinate alternate assessments to qualifying students with special needs 13.Provide leadership in meeting the needs of special education students 14.Facilitate communication between parents and IEP teams during times of conflict 15.Assist with conciliation conferences and due process mediation and hearing sessions 16.Engage in District-level leadership activities and committees 17.Manage section 504 plans as needed 18.Other duties as assigned

Social Worker

Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work wit them in the development of each student. Perform classroom management duties; enforce District rules governing the conduct. Adult Basic Education Lead Teacher

Summary Administer the ABE program in Forest Lake and coordinate all areas including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, planning, training of staff and volunteers, evaluating, and record keeping and data collection for Metro East Consortium and the State. Teach adult basic education including GED preparation, adult diploma, English as a Second Language, basic skills, and family literacy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Plan and implement program for adult literacy needs in the community. * Plan and monitor program budget * Supervise all licensed staff, office assistant, and volunteers. * Determine site schedule and staffing for all sessions * Train, orient, recognize, and place volunteer. * Coordinate all outreach and marketing activities. * Facilitate a thorough procedure for client orientation, intake, assessment, progress and reporting. * Provide student data reports to central services in a timely manner. * Instruct adult students individually or in small groups in a variety of areas including GED preparation, adult diploma, basic skills, basic computer skills, English as a Second Language, and family literacy. Perform other duties as assigned in support of instructional efforts such as: * Develop, plan and update student personal educational plan * Maintain student records * Perform follow-up with learners * Assess, utilize, and report student progress and goal achievement * Guide and direct volunteer activity * Participate in professional development activities * Develop and maintain partnerships * Handle additional responsibilities unique to the position or as assigned * Follow all guidelines and policies set by Metro East ABE consortium and the MN State ABE Director Schedule for 2017-2018 School Year This position is 32 hours per week for 47 weeks per year. Weeks off would primarily be structured around times when the program is closed such as holiday break, spring break, etc. Some evenings required.
