Minnehaha Academy is hiring a Middle School Learning Specialist to begin in August for the 2017-2018 school year. The position is full-time and is eligible for benefits. The role of the Learning Specialist is to support students with diverse learning needs by providing intervention and remediation, support teachers in their efforts to advance students with different learning needs in the classroom, and to work with parents and outside professionals to better serve students with specialized needs. This individual will work to understand the academic needs of our current and prospective Middle School students and will lead efforts to develop plans for continued growth in this area. The Middle School Learning Specialist will coordinate the academic support program including: Participate in weekly grade level team meetings to discuss and address individual student needs Maintain records and documentation of plans, interventions, and communications for students with individualized needs Serve as the liaison with Minneapolis Special Education staff, including evaluation and IEP processes Collaborate with the Counselor to facilitate administration of school-based standardized tests Analyze data, observations, and teacher feedback to identify research-based strategies and practices that will further strengthen our opportunities for student engagement and growth Facilitate internal communications to support student growth, as well as ongoing monitoring of the plans and their success Facilitate communication with parents to ensure a strong home-school partnership Provide information, resources, and training as needed to support teachers, ensuring that they are equipped to provide differentiation and accommodations as needed In addition, the Learning Specialist will teach three resource-type room Learning Lab classes (6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade).

Serves as a member of the district office team and cabinet advising members on matters regarding human resources. Head Boys Cross Country Coach
Description: Head Boys Cross Country coach beginning August 2017. Position will be 12-15 hours per week. Practice and competitions with the High School Girls Cross Country Team. Job Summary: Oversee practices, preparation, coordination and organization of all aspects of Boys Cross Country. This person must also work very closely with the Girls Head Coach and all assistant coaches within each program. Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the Boys Cross Country program which may include but not limited to: recruiting participants, managing a very large roster, helping to coordinate transportation, work with the Activities Office on pre-season meetings, eligibility, and equipment.
Head High School Boys Golf Coach
Description: Head High School Boys Golf Coach for Shakopee Schools. Assignment begins March 2018 and runs through the middle of June 2018. Job Summary: Coaching the boys golf team. Knowledge and understanding of the rules of golf with the ability to explain, interpret, and apply this knowledge to student/athletes. Must be able to demonstrate skills and techniques on the golf course and/or driving range.
Adult Basic Education Teacher
This part-time teaching position provides an opportunity to work with adults in Adult Basic Education program located at the Central Learning Center. As a part of the ABE teaching team, this position will require using cooperative teaching strategies during instruction and integrating technology into learning. For the 2017-2018 fiscal year, this position will be approximately 7-13 hours per week for 47 weeks based on program needs. Schedule includes 7 hours per week during the summer and approximately 13 hours per week during the school year.
