Description: To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by serving as a member of the collaborative and integrated executive leadership team which plans, directs, and coordinates action to achieve the mission and strategic objectives. Provide system level leadership to all E-12 schools and program sites. Collaborate with two other Assistant Superintendents to provide system-wide leadership for the following areas which support E-12 schools and program sites: Educational Equity; Student Services; Research, Assessment and Accountability; Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Standards; and extra-curricular activities. Represent the school system at the national, state, and local level. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Achieves strategic objectives by working collaboratively with leaders in Human Resources, Finance & Operations, Community Engagement, Instructional & Information Technology, Community Relations and with the General Counsel to achieve the mission of the school system. Ensures a collaborative culture by adhering to the strategic plan core values and by ensuring that collaborative teams are setting standards for their area of work, examining data regarding effectiveness, and taking action to meet the standards. Ensures improved student achievement by overseeing the design, implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum; ensuring effective instruction; evaluating program and practices using data; supervising and evaluating site and system leaders; providing professional development for leaders, teachers and support staff; reducing suspensions from school and eliminating the racial disparity within suspension, by overseeing the program of extracurricular activities, and by demonstrating leadership for racial equity. Ensures effective organizational management by collaborating with staff and local law enforcement officials to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment; allocating human and financial resources to accomplish our mission; and by coordinating the work of principals, directors, assistant principals, coordinators and other management personnel to ensure organizational effectiveness.
