Special Education Teacher – Saints Academy/Saints Online (2711)
The person hired for this position will provide Special Education services and case management to students in two unique programs; Saints Academy and Saints Online. Saints Academy is a small community based alternative program for students in grades 9-12 who, for a variety of reasons, are not being successful in the traditional high school setting. Saints Online is an off-site option for resident students in grades 3-12 to access learning online and work towards diploma completion. Both programs are in operation at the Crossroads School & Vocational Center (CSVC) located in St. Francis. Primary service provision, programming, and case management will be for on-site Saints Academy students. Provide direct special education services for students who have disabilities Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers regarding students on IEPs. Provide work direction and support to the assigned Educational Assistant. Perform educational assessments of students as required. Develop, write and implement IEPs for assigned caseload. Ensure that due process requirements are being followed. Create behavior plans and incentive programs for students that encourage attendance, participation, and overall progress towards IEP goals and objectives.
